A smiling elderly woman with gray hair sitting at a table with a coffee mug and a blue book titled 'Grace.' There is a window behind her with pink flowers outside and a beige curtain. To the right, there is a quote and a message about a woman who is a reflection of God's grace in the speaker's life.

Reminds Me of Mama

This poem reflects the beauty and love of my mom. My parents divorced when I was about 13. Me and mama ventured out on our own and moved to another city which meant a new place, new home, new schools and new friends. It was one of the most challenging times in my life but as a teenager, I never considered what my mom was going through as well. I was stubborn and thought I knew it all. She had to manage me along with her own emotions and dealing with me was quite enough. I was angry and took things out on her but she never waivered in her patience and love for me. She always cared about where I was, what I was doing, and who I was with. She worked full time and yet managed to come to as many of my games and functions as she possibly could. She has always been such a hard worker and caregiver to all. People have always told us that we look so much alike and I cannot argue. I am honored to have those features because my mama is beautiful. I am so thankful that God chose her for me.
