Family playing in the yard of a white, vintage-style house with a porch during sunset. A woman with long gray hair stands to the right, watching. The house is surrounded by trees, flowers, and a white picket fence.

Oh, To Be the Fly…

You may find this poem hard to follow so I wanted to explain my thought process behind it all. The first section titled The Becoming, is recalling a time of chaotic relationships. The times of immaturity and madness that can often exist when two hearts collide without Christ as their center. The Unfolding is when life settles a bit. Maturity takes hold and things become more black and white. True love is found and family is created. The Leaving explores time and its passing of days; the silence that follows and the longing for those days again. What we wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall to witness it all unfold when we are no longer needed.
