Grace Remains - Featured Poem Snippet
The Screen Door Days
From the screen door poured the fragrance of home beyond the tracks.
Mama’s cookin’ wafting through the air led me home each sunset cue.
Cypress moss and tree stumps marked paths along the lake.
Daddy’s deer and fish kept us fed.
Back when family meant everyone and not the spoils of failed promises.
Small as it was, the journey never felt alone.
That screen door will always welcome me home.
