Blonde Mist
This poem was one written in a time of grief. I lost a cousin very unexpectedly. She was younger than me and we were very close as children. We still communicated often though we weren’t able to see one another as much as we would have liked. We were always told that we looked more like sisters instead of cousins. She struggled for a long time with health issues that had worn down her body. She was in pain a lot. She was such a kind, generous, and loving soul. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing when I received that call. Grief enveloped every fiber of my being. She left behind a husband and young son along with so many friends and family that loved her dearly. I don’t have to understand why it happened but I would be lying if I tried to deny that the question hadn’t been asked. Despite the anguish, we must remember that suffering is only for a little while for those who put their faith in Christ.
Psalm 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
